SG Líza Simpson SVV 1, Wesensüberprüfung
SV HD/ED: Normal LÜW: 0 OCD: Frei DM: Clear
Líza Simpson (pronounced Lee – zah) is a beautiful black and tan import from Slovakia. Líza has the following titles – SVV 1 (similar to IGP with 3 phases, tracking, obedience, and protection) and her Wesensüberprüfung (character assessment test). She is rated SG (very good show rating) and has her breed survey done. Líza’s pedigree has many strong dogs, and we expect her to produce impressive dogs for work as well as good family companions.
Líza is a force in protection work, with fast entries and strikes, full grips, and an impressive guard. When asked to ‘out’, she stands on the helper’s thighs and stares dead into the helper’s eyes. She will bite on any surface, tile, stairs, wobbly tables, she is a very environmentally sound dog. She has high possession drive, and high food drive. She wants to please her person but loves to fight the helper, and can handle any pressure the helper dishes out beautifully. Líza is an impressive female in her own right, and can only be complimented by our stud dogs.
When she arrived, it was clear she had not been inside a home before, but after a short adjustment period where she really studied the TV and dishwasher (what the heck are those??), she fit right in like she had been raised inside the home vs. a kennel. She will happily entertain herself playing with toys or a chew, and actually has a pretty decent “off” switch in spite of her high drives.
Even though we just very recently “met”, Líza has impressed me again and again. She showed me early on who she was, and how she handles herself. Whenever I am bringing a new dog into my home I always get a little nervous because inevitably there are hiccups along the way to integrating the new addition to my routine.
With Líza there were none. Ever. She does not let stress get to her, if she is even feeling any, you wouldn’t know. After a long flight from Europe to the USA, she arrived pregnant and only 11 days out from whelp. When I bought her, I thought I had more time to get to know her before her puppies arrived. Surprise! She handled her first whelp with us amazingly and let me do anything I needed to help her or her puppies. Considering we basically just met, that’s nothing short of amazing. There were at least 3 puppies who were slow starters and needed extra help clearing out their airways. She let me help her babies like she had known me her whole life. I am not exagerrating when I say the temperament of this dog may be among the best of any dog I’ve ever owned. A very loud thunderstorm with lightning and pouring rain during her potty break and whelp (thunder so loud it shook the house) she didn’t notice it. As I said earlier, she is such a biddable girl too. I have so many stubborn girls where the whelp is their show and they will do what they want no matter what I say. 🤷🏼♀️ Líza is just easygoing, go with the flow, and I couldn’t have asked for her whelp to go any better than it did.
Líza’s whelp started around 4 am and she had her last puppy shortly after 8 am. No still born pups, either. A little over 4 hour whelp in a new place with people she doesn’t really know. Just wow!! ❤️ We are beyond fortunate to have her!
