Sisu (meaning): strength of will, determination, perseverance, and acting rationally in the face of adversity.
Fyre von Goedehaus (Sisu) is my keeper from my F2 litter, Isa z rexovy Ohrady and our own stud dog, Buck vom Hundepit. Both Isa and Buck produced well together, with puppies that excelled as working prospects and active family companions, and we are excited and grateful to have a part of such two phenomenal dogs in our kennel. Sisu goes back on some old Czech and West German working lines, dogs not super commonly seen in pedigrees today. Buck was a total outcross for mama Isa, but his lines are becoming more and more sought after by top German Shepherd breeders as his son is being used heavily in Europe.
Sisu is a female on the larger end of the standard at 72 lbs lean working weight. She has very nice bone and a proportionate head with a lovely expression and ear set. I expect confident, social, dog neutral and med/high drives with high food drive pups from Sisu. She will also produce good working quality puppies in her litter that would be good for first time working dog handlers wanting to jump into dog sports but don’t want to get too much dog as well as active family companion pups. She does have an “off switch” in the house and just enjoys hanging out with you when it’s not time to train. Sisu’s obedience is beautiful and she loves to work, she is the type of dog that makes you look good with minimal effort on your end. She’s smart to pick up new tasks and is animated about it. She loves to work and go with you wherever you go! Sisu is in training for PSA with Kevin and will be hitting the trial field for her PDC soon.
